You tell the story. We handle everything else — and you get paid and credited.
What we commission
Messy Stories commissions exclusive original storytimes — real, wild, personal stories, told on camera by the person who lived them (or heard them firsthand). If we commission your story:
- Flat fee, agreed up front in writing, paid after acceptance. No revenue-share games.
- @handle credit on the published video and wherever the story runs — you stay the face of your story.
- Exclusive to Messy Stories — the commissioned recording is ours to publish; the exact scope is spelled out in a plain-English agreement you sign before recording anything.
How it works
- Apply below. Pitch us the story in a few sentences — the twist matters more than the polish.
- We talk. If it's a fit, we reach out by email with the offer, the fee, and the agreement. You ask anything you want before signing.
- You record, we publish. Sign first, then record. Once we accept the recording, you get paid and the story goes live with your credit.
Submitting an application creates no obligation on either side — you're not committing to anything, and neither are we, until a written agreement is signed. Applications are reviewed privately and never published.
